Set Sail in Chic Boat Shoes

We know, we know. Boat shoes call to mind those thick-soled monsters your dad used to wear on family vacations. It's almost impossible to believe, but the same shoes have come a long way, baby - and now they're surprisingly chic. We're talking about downright stylish shoes you'll wear whether you're on a boat, the boardwalk or merely putting in time at the mall.

Yep, they've still got thick soles - that's a hallmark of a traditional boat shoe, after all - but these Sperry Top-Sider Bahama Boat Shoes ($75) are anything but traditional. Get a load of the translucent sequins, which add a flashy finish to a practical shoe. Oh, they're also available in 18 colors. Good enough for us!

Here's a boat shoe you can wear with everything from cropped pants to cotton mini skirts. Designed by Call It Spring, the Friddell Flat Shoes ($35) are adorable in navy and white. Nautical-chic look aside, they've got cushioned footbeds and sturdy soles for the ultimate in all-day-long comfort.

We're wild about these preppy Jones New York Daegal Flats ($99). More the sort of boat shoe you'd wear if you were, say, lounging around instead of doing anything physical, they boast a hint of vintage elegance coupled with the modern charm of a sleek everyday shoe.

Leave it to Steve Madden to resist the bland and offer up something bright and colorful in its place. The Yachtt boat shoe ($49.95) is utter perfection in rich eggplant, with a durable rubber sole detailed with visible, bold topstitching. Love it!

If you have perfected your backyard cooking skills with the standard charcoal grills, and want to move on to elite status, consider the kamado-style BBQ grills. They use lump charcoal -- not briquettes that have petrochemical additives and may alter the taste of your grilled foods -- and eschew the use of charcoal lighter in the kamado ceramic cooker; the highly insulated and airtight cookers are ideal for low-temperature (about 200 degrees F) smoking and high-temperature (about 700 degrees F) grilling by manipulation of the top and bottom airflow vents.
kamado grill & smoker
This Saffire Kamado Jasper Red Grill and Smoker ($1110) is hand-built with a non-fading ceramic exterior and steel and ceramic innards; the interior grill shelf is a very generous 280 square inches (about two square feet). The hinged top is spring-loaded for easy opening and includes a thermometer port; thermometer included. The custom cart features bamboo side shelves -- with a towel bar -- and rust-proof stainless steel fixtures. Limited lifetime warranty.
cahr-griller kamado cooker
For a slightly less expensive version of this high-efficiency grill, the Char-Griller Kamado Kooker ($350); the cooker is built of heavy gauge steel with an internal porcelain coating on the insulated, double-wall cooker. 306 square inches of cooking surface on the cast iron grate (that has a removable center section for easy charcoal addition), folding side shelves with integrated utensil hooks, removable ash pan, and a lower storage shelf with 8" wheels and a locking caster for stability of the cooker.

The oval design of this primo oval kamado cookerPrimo Oval XL Kamado Grill ($1100) allows for reversible cooking grates and rack extensions to be used on this 400 square inch cooker. The ceramic lining makes for no hot spots while keeping the exterior cool for safety -- think little kid's fingers. Stainless steel and cast iron hardware, a precisely calibrated temperature gauge, and the Auto-Lock hinge system won't do any damage to big kid's fingers. Utensil hooks on the side shelves, caster wheels for patio mobility, and a generously sized bottom storage shelf. 20 year (limited) warranty.

16 Tips & Tricks to Help You Look Younger

$

There's no shame in your age, but there's something to be said for glowing, youthful skin and a body you feel confident in. After all, looking younger -- no matter your actual age -- is a sign of good health. Luckily, thanks to various products, home remedies and little style tricks, you can cheat the clock and look younger than your years.

We spoke to several beauty and fashion gurus to obtain expert advice on how to look, and feel, younger. Check out their tips, tricks and suggestions below and let us know how they work out for you in the comment section below.

Avoid Heavy Makeup

Women tend to get more insecure about their appearance as they age, and as a result, pile on too much makeup. Jene' Luciani, bestselling author of The Bra Book, a Shape Magazine columnist and National Lifestyle Correspondent and Contributor, says to skip the cake-y makeup.

"Heavy foundation and powder tends to settle into wrinkles and fine lines, exacerbating them," she notes. Conceal problem areas, but let the rest of your skin shine through. Try an illuminator for an extra dewy, rejuvenated glow and stick to a light tinted moisturizer with SPF when you can.

Pictured are Juice Beauty Irresistable Glow Facial Highlighter ($22) and Clinique's Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 15 ($26).

Try Funky Nail Polish

The color on your nail polish equates to roughly 5 percent of your overall look, so don't be afraid to go bold. For example, a minty green or even hot pink can add a splash of funky youth hood to your overall ensemble without making it seem as if you're trying too hard to look young.

Pictured are Butter London's Nail Lacquer Disco Biscuit ($14), Sally Hansen Hard as Nails XTreme Nail Color in Mint Sorbet ($2.25) and Revlon Nail Enamel in Zealous ($2.50).

Stay on Top of Trends

Staying on top of trends doesn't mean you have to spend a bajillion dollars every other month on expensive clothing. You can stay on top of trends in less expensive ways, including accessories.

"Keep your accessories trendy to show that you're still in the style know," suggests Jess Zaino, personal stylist and founder of Cheap Chic Shopping Tours. Zaino was former host of the Style Networks, "The Look for Less" and now works with Clinton Kelly on "The Chew."

She warns you shouldn't go overboard with too many pieces, though. "Stick to a statement necklace, stacked bracelets and a cocktail ring or two."

Pictured are Rachel Roy Tinley Road Chevron Plated Necklace ($38) and
Oasis Pretty Bangles Stacking Set ($29).

Choose the Right Shoe

Comfortable shoes are amazing, no doubt, but don't sacrifice style in the process, especially if you're going for a refined, fashion-forward look.

"Wearing a sexy dress with bad shoes is going to make you look old," warns Sarah Shirley, a NYC-based stylist who regularly doles out advice for fashion glossies and shows such as "Good Day New York," "They Early show" and "The Today Show."

Fortunately, it's possible to don kicks that are as fabulous looking as they are comfortable. For example, wedges and strappy sandals are currently on trend for spring and summer and are available in myriad comfortable options.

If you want to add height without worrying about teetering over in a 3-inch stiletto, try a kitten heel.

Pictured are ASOS SORT Slipper Vamp Kitten Heel Shoes ($43) and Kelsi Dagger Bianca Crisscross Raffia Wedge in Nude ($49).

Try Eyelash/Eyebrow Hair Growth Serum

"Another telltale aging sign is eyebrows," says Luciani. "The hair thins as we age and women tend to start penciling them in. Instead, use an eyelash growth serum on brow hairs daily."

Some growth serums require prescriptions from your doc, but OTC options are also available. For example, the EnvyDerm line has mascara ($20), liquid eyeliner ($23) and a growth serum ($49.99, from $100) available without prescription.

Whiten Those Teeth

Whitening your teeth may seem like a hassle, but the difference it can make in a matter of weeks (or even hours, if you go professional) is mind-blowing.

White teeth represent good health and youthfulness while yellow or stained teeth often age you at least a few years. Try an at-home whitening kit, use a whitening toothpaste daily and stay on top of your 6-month dental checkups. Even without insurance, the ~$100 every 6 months is one of the best investments you can make, health and beauty-wise.

Pictured is Go Smile Double Action Whitening 6 Day System ($89) and Marvis Whitening Mint Toothpaste ($15).

Cinch Your Waist

"Ruching at the waist always slims and sexifies a woman's silhouette," says Zaino. A slim waist and pretty figure often equates to youthfulness. Use a belt to cinch your waist or try a dress in a waist-flattering cut.

Pictured are J. Crew's Stripe Boating Belt in Island Coral ($19.99), MICHAEL by Michael Kors Ring-Buckle Belt ($48) and Mod Cloth's A-flutter with Glee Dress ($64.99).

Choose Tights Over Panty Hose

This ought to make your heart sing: those uncomfortable panty hose can often age you, so feel free to toss 'em out.

If you want to wear a shorter hemline and are worried about exposing your legs, try a patterned tight instead. Shirley suggests black opaques or nude fishnets, both neutral enough to go with just about anything.

Pictured are Pretty Polly Fishnet Stockings, 2 pack ($34) and Hue Sheer Dot Opaque Tights ($13.50).

Dark Wash Jeans

For a more youthful silhouette, Zaino also suggests nabbing a pair or two of dark wash jeans. One of the season's hottest jean trend, she says, is a short cut skinny jean, which shows off slimming "ankle cleavage," (yes - it's a thing), lifts the derriere and elongates your gams. That sounds like a triple win, to us.

Pictured are MEK Denim Dark Wash Skinny Jeans ($89), Dylan George Kendra Skinny in Mulholland Dark ($98) and Levi's Jeans, Demi Curve Skinny Leg Ankle in Destined Dark Wash ($44.99).

Switch Up Your Hair Style

We've all witnessed women (and men, if we're being honest) who are stuck in a hair rut. Newsflash: if you've been wearing the same style for more than 5 years, it's possible you're also sporting an outdated look. Give your hair stylist some freedom to change things up (it is their job to stay on top of hair trends), and don't be afraid to play with trendy hair accessories, including wraps, feathers, scarves, barrettes and beyond.

Pictured are Banana Republic Flower Brooch Headband ($25), Anna & Ava Crystal Bow Hair Barrette ($15), Charlotte Russe Tribal Feather Extension Clip ($5.50).

Sport Girly Pink Lips

"Dark colors are so 1997 and look harsh," says Shirley, who suggests something softer and more playful as an alternative. "Young girls love pinks and corals, so go for something light and pretty."

Pictured are NYX Mette Lipstick in Summer Breeze ($5.99), L'Oreal Colour Riche Anti-Aging Serum Lipstick in Compelling Coral ($9.99) and Maybelline SuperStay 10Hr Stain Gloss in Pink Plush ($8.99).

Wear Bold Colors

Bright colors are youthful and fun, so don't shy away from them. Try soft pastels, trendy tangerine and all the other colors of the rainbow. The only bold color you should steer away from is red, notes Zaino.

"[Red] picks up on broken capillaries." Unfortunately, broken capillaries are a common frustration that older women face, so highlighting them is certainly frowned upon.

Red highlights them in the same way a green shirt picks up the specks of green in your eyes. You can wear other colors that are just as vibrant. And if red is your favorite, try it via an accessory, shoe, purse or even nail polish.

Pictured are Mossimo Supply Co. Womens Plus-Size Short-Sleeve Kimono Dress ($18), ASOS SUGAR PIE Peep Toe Mid Heel Shoes ($45), J.Crew Cabochon and crystal stretch bracelet ($29.50) and Jessica Simpson Hoop Earrings ($32).

Dress Age-Appropriately

Be sure your clothing is age appropriate. That goes for dressing both too old and too young. "Women who try to dress like their teenage daughters actually make themselves look older," says Luciani. She suggests wearing a hemline that hits just above the knee and to make sure your clothing is fitted to your body. Try tailored jackets or blazers, well-fitted t-shirt dresses and prints that lean more subtle than blaring.

Pictured are Jones New York Collection One-Button Blazer ($149) and Lauren Ralph Lauren Lauren by Ralph Lauren Roll Sleeve Shirtdress ($105).

Wear the Correct Bra

Luciani, whose specialty is bras, can't emphasize enough the importance of a well-fitting bra. "Keeping those girls lifted and perky instantly makes you look younger," she says.

Pictured are Calvin Klein Underwear Naked Glamour Lace Plunge Bra ($24.75) and Elle Macpherson Intimates Picturesque Lace Contour Bra ($65).

Cover Aged Neck Skin

This one kind of hurts, but again, our aim is to be as honest and helpful as possible. As we age, the skin on our neck and chest becomes especially susceptible to sagging, wrinkles and sun spots. Luciani suggests wearing a statement necklace to conceal this area. Alternatively, try a flattering top, such as a peter pan collar (youthful in its own way), button up shirt or charming/interesting tops with higher necklines.

Pictured are Rachel Roy Tinley Road Lemon Drop Statement Necklace ($34) and Yumi Kim Tinley Road Peter Pan Collar Blouse ($49).

Update Your Wardrobe

Just because your 10-year-old shoes haven't fallen apart yet, that doesn't mean they should be worn. And even if those jeans from 7 years ago still fit (congrats on that, if that's the case!), that doesn't mean you should wear them, either.

Falling out of touch with what's in style can age both men and women, so consistently add new pieces to your wardrobe if you want to stay hip and youthful looking. Of course, investing in timeless pieces -- such as straightforward LBDs and crisp button ups -- is always good for your checkbook.

The Shorts of It All

Shopping for shorts is a bit like shopping for a swimsuit: it has to be a cut that flatters your figure, and it should never, EVER ride up and make you feel uncomfortable (so, basically, sayonara, booty shorts). Here's what we're loving this season, from playful prints to polished cuts that make the grade in any environment.

Say aloha to these fun print shorts designed by Trouve ($68). The brilliant floral pattern will take you straight to the tropics, even if the closest you'll get anytime soon is the neighborhood pool. With these on, you'll look as cool, carefree and relaxed as the season itself. Pair with a bright top for maximum impact!

A pair of relaxed linen shorts, like these by Caslon ($49), is a must for your most laid-back days - think mall excursions with friends on sultry summer afternoons or a day at the park with the family. With an elastic waist and a drawstring, they couldn't be more comfortable, and the slightly rumpled linen effect boasts an air of thoughtfully disheveled chic.

Seeking a dressy short to wear to lunch with a special someone? Try these Trina Turk Alto Cinco cuff shorts ($198). Edged at the waist with a removable tie sash, they're cuffed at the legs for a pulled together appearance. Try them with a sleeveless lace top and strappy sandals for an instantly polished look that will keep you cool and looking hot on even the most steamy days.

Some shorts have a certain side effect that makes them desirable even to those women who wouldn't normally wear anything but skirts or pants. That's definitely the case here! These Vince Camuto Belted Shorts ($43.90) are amazingly both vintage-inspired and modern - sexy and old fashioned at once, with a high waist, a glossy black belt and a faint pleat at the front. Love the blue with a striped top and heels, as seen on the model.

Relaxed Tees with a Twist

While we love a great trend, there's nothing like the reliability and comfort of a relaxed tee. The classic piece is one of those wardrobe essentials that pairs well with anything, from jeans and denim skirts to shorts and trousers. We've rounded up a few of our very favorite relaxed tees, all with a little something extra to keep them interesting.

When in doubt, look to Splendid for an amazing variety of classic tops in numerous colors. They updated the basic white tee with a hint of slouch and the result was this cowl-neck draped tee ($54). It's dressier than plain tops, yet still feels completely effortless and comfy.

Another "old reliable" of the tee industry is Michael Stars, whose magnificently comfortable jersey knits feel like a second skin. This snake-print slub tee ($88) puts a fresh spin on a gray tee. Try it with skinny jeans and a pair of statement earrings for a look that exemplifies polished casual.

From the front, it's your average, everyday tee in a goes-with-everything beige. From the back, though, this BCBGMAXAZRIA tee ($78) is far more daring, thanks to its U-shaped cutout, which offers just a peek of skin but changes the overall mood of your look entirely. Sure, it's still laid back - but would look chic even with dressier bottoms.

They're faint, but the dots on this Bobeau burnout tee ($39) change the pace of the sheer fabric in a beautiful way. It's also slightly ruched along the sides for a flattering, slightly unexpected silhouette.

If you have a laptop with a small (eye-straining) screen, or your desktop monitor is tottering along on its last legs, now's a great time to look for a new computer monitor. With the rapid pace of technological change in all things electronic, a state of the art monitor that was hot stuff a year ago may be obsolete today. And, you don't have to lay out big bucks to get a monitor that will serve you well; there are a number of quality monitors that go for less than $200, absent some of the bells and whistles, oacer 23f course.

Take this screen for example, the Acer 23" LED Monitor ($144); with a wide screen for very easy viewing, this monitor has a 1080p resolution for great picture quality. It's thin and lightweight -- perfect for pairing with VESA mounts -- and has ports for VGA, HDMI, and DVI input, but none for USB connection and no speakers. Not a big deal, in my view. Also, it arrives with all the necessary cabling to make connections to your existing system. Three year warranty.

samsung 22
This Samsung 22" Monitor ($140) sports a 1920 x 1080 resolution that's ideal for gaming or just everyday browsing of the Web world; the 2ms response time virtually eliminates any flicker and the HDMI and VGA ports will allow you to connect to just about any corner of your electronic world. No speakers on this monitor, but it does have an easily adjustable tilt function.
asus 23' monitor
If you want stereo speakers as part of your monitor package, you may like this ASUS 23" HD LCD Monitor ($158); they're 2 watts in power, so they won't strip paint from the walls, but you'll get the necessary audio. On the other hand, you'll have 2ms response time, and 1080p resolution, for gaming, along with ports (and cables) for HDMI, DVI, and VGA support. The monitor is compatible with VESA mounting options, and comes with a 3 year warranty.

Shop a wide variety of computer monitors.

One of the greatest things you can have on hand in any household is a healthy supply of herbs. The fresher they are, of course, the better your food will taste. An easy way to keep fresh herbs on hand is to grow your own.

You can start a windowsill herb garden from scratch with seeds. If you're a little apprehensive to that idea, consider buying already sprouted plants. These are available inexpensively at farmers' markets, home goods stores and even regular, everyday grocery stores.

In addition to needed the actual plant, you'll want good potting soil, fertilizer, planters and plant markers to help you keep everything organized. Having your plants marked is handy when they're first starting to sprout since everything looks the same, but may require different treatment.

Lastly, you'll may want to invest in an herb planting advice book. Of course, you can always search the infinite Internet for tips and advice on how to keep your windowsill herb garden thriving.

Below are some products that will help get your windowsill garden started. Features at top left is Etsy seller Harlowlane's Herb garden Kit ($36).

Colorful Denim: Spring and Summer Do

$

Colorful denim is one of the spring and summer's hottest -- and most vibrant -- trends. This trend looks best when it's worn as either a skinny pant (either bunched at the ankles or cropped slightly to show off your ankles) or as a short.

Since the colored denim is what makes the outfit pop, you can keep the rest of your ensemble relatively neutral. For example, a clean, crisp white top or some other natural color works well. If you're feeling brave, you can also wear another color on top. The key is to make sure the colors don't clash too drastically. For example, a pale melon shirt may pair well with certain shades of green.

As for accessories and shoes, pretty much anything goes. If you want to play it safe to ensure your outfit does match, go with metallic jewelry. That includes bronze, gold, silver, rose gold and even white gold.

Check out some of the colored denim options below:

Genetic Denim Huck Short in 2 Colors, $132
J.Crew Colored denim short, $49.99
Joe's Jeans Skinny Jeans, Light Purple Wash Colored Denim Skinny, $158
Buffalo David Bitton - Lisa Ankle Skinny Colored Sateen Denim, $108

Insulated Coolers for Picnics and Camping

One of the best parts of picnicking and camping is the food; aside from the fact that meals just seem to taste better in the outdoors, if you have the ability to take and store food for more than a meal or two -- peanut butter and jelly sandwiches don't cut it for repeat breakfasts -- the rest is just fun. The modern technology and design of coolers has made the food storage part of car camping, and overnights at the beach, almost a luxury.
coleman stainless steel cooler
As with this Coleman Steel Belted 54 Quart Cooler ($138); Coleman has been making outdoor gear since 1900 and this retro cooler is an updated model of its early steel containers. It's pretty close to indestructible with the stainless steel lid, case, hardware and handles (with comfortable rubber grips). It's not the lightest cooler on the market but it will be around for your kids to use. With the 54 quart capacity, the cooler will keep you in top shape -- food-wise -- for multiple days. Six year warranty on this beast.
oakland living patio cooler
So; you want to party on your patio? Here's an easy way to keep your drinks cold and close at hand. With a design based on commercial drink coolers, the Oakland Living 80 Quart Patio Cooler ($183) is hand-made from powder-coated stainless steel and brass components for durable service; the cooler features a removable, hinged top that opens in either direction, and an amply sized lower storage tray for stuff that's in the on deck circle to be cooled. Also, a handy bottle opener and catch tray, plus over-sized handles and locking caster wheels. Nice.
rubbermaid 102 quart cooler
For commercial use or lengthy cold storage use, this over-large capacity Rubbermaid 102 Quart Marine Cooler ($67) sports extra-thick insulation to keep goods cold for up to 5 days. It will ice down 156 cans and your two-liter bottles stand upright. Heavy duty side-swing handles and a stain and odor-resistant liner are salient features of this robust cooler; the lid locks tight with a sturdy latch, and the threaded drain plug ensures leak-proof cold storage.

Kitchen Electronics That Simplify Life

Saving any amount of time -- even if it's only a few minutes -- is a common goal among we busy, busy humans. Time, after all, is a precious and non-renewable source, so getting the most out of our day is key to our happiness, sanity and overall health. An easy way to save time in your day is with the help of various tools, gadgets and electronics.

Obviously inventions such as the microwave, vacuum cleaner and washer/dryer help with that. Today, though, I'm talking specifically about kitchen-related electronics that'll simplify your life. And if saving time isn't necessarily important to you, perhaps you'll just enjoy these fun kitchen electronics for what they are.

For example, NesCafe's Dolce Gusto Circolo Single Serve Coffee Maker ($149) is one of my favorite new additions to my kitchen. It yields creamy, delicious, lattes and mochas in a matter of seconds, allowing me to run out the door far more quickly than if I were waiting for a drip or press. Unlike Keurig, Dolce Gusto Circolo yields creamier, frothier options compared to basic flavored coffees. Buy the cups here ($10 for a box) and, if you're in the market for creamer, I recommend Coffee Mate's Natural Bliss. They recently began selling low-fat flavors, a major win for those of us watching calories.

Sometimes an insulated cooler is just not the right accessory for a patio party -- you need the large capacity and the easy access, but you want something a little fancier than a foam container. Enter the beverage tub -- a classy way to keep your drinks cold and right at hand.
copper beverage tub
Consider this goodly sized Smooth Copper Beverage Tub ($150) from Maycreek. It's hand-made from solid copper and is the perfect companion for a backyard or patio party. The iRobot Vacuum Cleaner -- Automatically Doing the Dirty Work

roomba automatic vacuum cleanerVacuuming is well down on the list of tasks I like to do; I know it's necessary, but I don't enjoy it. For those who feel the same, there is an option -- an autonomous vacuum cleaner, the Roomba 560 Vacuum Cleaning Robot ($249). From iRobot, this latest generation of automatic vacuums is bagless, with a fine-filtration trap to grab allergens like dust, pet dander, and pollen. The machine operates by itself over a variety of floor surfaces and under hard-to-clean places like beds and furniture. On-board sensors keep the Roomba from taking a dive down the stairs and the included Virtual Walls devices ensure it doesn't wander into off-limits areas. After cleaning (up to four rooms) the vacuum heads back to its dock to recharge.

Face Masks: Keep Cool While Improving Skin

During the summers, all I want is a little icy reprieve from the hot sun. Over the years, I've learned a little beauty trick that'll cool you down (and improve your skin) when there's no pool in sight and a shower just doesn't appeal: face masks. Yep, cool and refreshing, tingling masks that sate any desire you have to rub yourself with ice.

My favorite kind of mask (for cooling purposes especially) are sheet masks that come individually packaged. They're easy to clean up/put on and you can keep them in the fridge for an extra cool treat. Right now I'm digging Wei Beauty's White Lotus Hydrating Face Treatment Pads pictured at left ($68 for 6).

Below are a few more face masks that'll soothe, hydrate and cool your skin.

Bliss 'No Zit Sherlock' Breakout-Busting Rubberizing Mask, $38

Household Must Own: Serving Trays

$

Back in the old days, serving trays were a standard in just about every home. Today you'll find piles of them in thrift stores (some adorable, others not so much), but they aren't as popular in traditional home goods stores. Still, they're a must, especially for the summer months.

Check out these utilitarian -- and cutesy -- ways to use serving trays in your own home.

Centerpiece
Place a tray in the middle or at the end of your dinner table. Put a small vase or jar filled with buds on it. You can also keep necessities, such as sugar, straws, napkins, salt and pepper on it, as well.

To Bring Outside
Who likes making a million trips from inside to outside, especially when you're trying to keep A/C costs to a minimum? If you're eating outside, use a serving tray to carry out drinks, side dishes, necessities, condiments (and whatever else you need) in one trip.

TV Trays
Every once in a while, having dinner in front of the TV is the perfect way to relax. Use serving trays (preferably with handles) in place of regular TV trays.

Filed under:

With the advent of increasingly longer daylight hours, and the opportunity to spend more time outdoors in the evening, it's possible to stretch those pleasant hours in your garden if you have sufficient night lighting. With both conventional, and solar lighting, your back yard can be made more secure and easier to navigate at night.
kichler garden lamp
This Kichler Lynnewood Gardens Outdoor Bronze Light (originally $237, now $158) is a wall (or post) mount light powered by conventional 110 volt service. With your addition of 150 watt standard, or 30 watt CFL, bulb this very nice lamp will throw ample illumination for your nighttime gatherings. The hand-wrought, leaf-trimmed steel frame and textured glass panels offer an understated appeal to your garden. Certified for wet use, the lamp features a legacy bronze finish.
rab lighting pagoda path light
Another 110 volt lamp, the RAB Lighting Four Tier Pagoda Garden Path Light ($17) is ideal for lighting a backyard walkway or as an accent light. Available in either black or green hues, the aluminum housing is powder coated for a chip and fade-resistant, long-life finish. Wet use certified, the gasketed globe is weatherproof. Perfect for use on alternating sides of a path, or to mark the limits of a lawn perimeter, this garden night light is easily installed and requires minimum maintenance while adding a sophisticated ambiance to your patio or garden.

I'm a big fan of solar ligproblem solvers solar step lightshting -- it's ideal for use in areas where installing power lines is not an easy task, or lighting is important to keeping a safe footing on steps or doorway thresholds. So, I like these Solar Step Lights (set of 4 for $40) from Problem Solvers. The bronze-finished aluminum lights gather energy from available sunlight during the day and power the lamps for up to 8 hours during the hours of darkness, turning on automatically. These lights are a breeze to install, requiring no drilling or wiring -- a few minutes work, exposure to sunlight during the day and, voila', you have night lighting for your steps.
